The person behind the projects

Hi, I’m Bryan.

I’m interested in how things work—and what becomes possible when you learn to work with them.

My background is in computer science and cybersecurity. I have a master’s degree in cybersecurity and information assurance and hold the CISSP certification. I enjoy practical technology: solving a problem, building an automation, or finding a useful application for AI.

One project bringing those interests together is NautiFile, the boat-records app I’m building to connect equipment, projects, service history, documents, and expenses. Read about building NautiFile.

That curiosity extends beyond a computer screen. I’m a private pilot, a Hapkido black belt, and someone learning more about boating with each project aboard Além Mar.

A project with a bigger purpose.

My family and I are preparing our Bayliner 4788 for the Great Loop. The work ranges from troubleshooting electronics to understanding the house batteries. The goal behind it is an adventure we can share together.

Why keep a journal?

I want a place to preserve the useful details: the original problem, the tests, the decisions, and the lessons. Alongside the technical articles, there is room for the experiences and interests that make the work worthwhile.

AI helps organize selected notes into drafts. I review the story and the evidence before deciding what belongs here.
